Kidnapped Ekiti Catholic Priest Returns Home.
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Akingbade , the Catholic cleric who was kidnaped by gunmen in Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti state last Tuesday, has been discharged by the individuals who seized him, Daily Trust reports.
The cleric was discharged before today.
the bishop of the Ekiti bishopric, Most Rev. Felix Ajakaye who affirmed his discharge to newsmen said no payoff was paid for the arrival of the pastor.
The bishop said the N200m payment requested by the hijackers was not paid as the congregation declined to oblige.
The cleric was kidnapped when three men outfitted with weapons raged the home of the pastor, who is additionally a legal counselor.
