The white bodywork with the black glass roof and chrome trim highlights really showcased our C300 long-termer to its full potential. In terms of specifications, I can say with confidence that if I was to buy a C300 this is EXACTLY how I would option it...Strangely, the C-Coupe is a tardis of load carrying. It is so big that I lost the dog in there and had to send in a search party.
The suspension has a very odd feeling going over certain bumps, whereby the wheels feel detached from the chassis – which sends a huge jolt throughout the cabin. The gearbox too, takes a while to drop down gears and get going.
The hybrid sedan is therefore a genuine performance surprise. The hybrid system is set up in such a way that the electric motor works to assist the diesel engine but can also operate in stand-alone mode. The transition between either assisting or working solo is so smooth you’d be hard pressed to pick it. Driving the hybrid feels almost no different to driving any other conventional C-Class, which is both surprising and impressive.
There is a whistling noise coming from the front air defector when going over 45mph with the rear deflector raised. The dealer has ordered a replacement deflector which will be installed next week.
It is gorgeous, stunning, thumbs up.... An admirer said “It is so sexy”... nothing not to like. It is overall a very good car, but, base engine can’t get out of its own way, must leave the transmission in Sport Plus just to be safe. My previous 2014 E350 gets the same mpg ... very sad.... The 9 speed transmission is as graceful as a bull in a china shop... not smooth at all. Shifts hard. The rest of the car is all Mercedes. The quality of fit and finish is impeccable. The interior is a work of art. The lines, slopes contours are so attractive. The car really is incredible in that Mercedes way....
